Microenterprises in the agri-food and forestry sector in Central Catalonia can now participate in the BCN Smart Rural Innovation Contest. The prize consists of an aid of 2,710 euros for hiring an advisory service that allows them to promote their development project.
The BCN Smart Rural Innovation Contest is managed by the Association of Rural Initiatives of Catalonia (ARCA) and is part of the BCN Smart Rural strategy, a rural development program co-financed by the Barcelona Provincial Council and the European Regional Development Fund ( ERDF). The award aims to contribute to promoting innovation in micro-businesses in the agri-food and forestry sector that work in the territory and takes over from the BCN Smart Rural Innovation Coupons, which were awarded during the years 2019 and 2020.
Companies that want to participate in the contest must send their call before April 1, 2021, and must meet the following requirements:
- Carry out some type of food processing activity (except forestry companies)
- Have a staff of less than 10 workers
- Have closed at least one fiscal year
- Have the operational establishment in one of the municipalities included within the eligible territorial scope, which corresponds to the municipalities of the non-metropolitan regions of the Barcelona district.
