Grazing agreements

The priority line of the Barcelona Provincial Council is the establishment of agreements between forest owners and livestock farmers to promote extensive grazing, a key tool for fire prevention and sustainable management of the territory. This commitment is part of a wider set of complementary initiatives that range from the training of new professionals and the recovery of traditional sustainable practices, to the provision of strategic infrastructure for the sector. The objective is to preserve and modernize extensive grazing, an essential activity for landscape management and food security, while facilitating its economic viability in the province of Barcelona.
