On Monday, September 9, World Agriculture Day, the Barcelona Provincial Council invites you to the presentation of the book 'Farming Barcelona: Portraits of a Changing Agriculture'. The event will take place in the lobby of Can Serra (126 Rambla de Catalonia, Barcelona) at 6:30 p.m.
The event aims to pay tribute to the farmers of Barcelona's province and to serve as a meeting point for all individuals dedicated to a healthier, safer, and more sustainable food future.
The book launch will be overseen by Xesco Gomar, Deputy of Natural Spaces and Green Infrastructure Area of Barcelona Provincial Council, who will welcome the attendees. Following this, the authors of the publication - Gabi Martínez, writer and journalist; Patxi Uriz, photographer and filmmaker; and Mar Carrera, journalist and eco-editor - will share their perspectives and experiences.
Sònia Callau, head of the Agrarian Territorial Directorate, will engage in a discussion with three farmers interviewed in the book: Maria Rovira from La Maria Eco, Germán Domínguez from El Nano Farinetes, and Tatiana Segura from Can Rasca Orella. They will provide insights into the challenges and rewards of farm work.
Please note that the event has limited capacity. You can confirm your attendance by sending an email to llibreria@diba.cat. If you are unable to attend in person, you can watch the presentation live on the Barcelona Provincial Council YouTube channel.
