The Forest Fire Information and Surveillance Plan (PVI) that Barcelona Provincial Council launches every summer aims to reduce the number of forest, agricultural or peri-urban fires and minimize their effects through surveillance and deterrence actions in the natural environment. This program began to be implemented in 1996 and currently covers 498,986 forested hectares, which represent 98.4% of the forest area of ​​province de Barcelona.

This year, the PVI device was in force between June 21 and September 1 and was implemented in collaboration with 275 councils, 124 Forest Defense Associations (ADF), 9 ADF Federations, the ADF Secretariat of Catalonia and the Corps of Rural Agents of Government of Catalonia.
