Feeding Barcelona
WHAT WE DO
Our mission is to center local food in the region's policies
Barcelona Agraria is a program by the Barcelona Provincial Council aimed at enhancing the province's food system. Our goal is to make it sustainable, healthier, and more secure, while also contributing to mitigating climate change and capturing more carbon.
With initial co-funding from the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), and as part of the BCN Smart Rural project, this collaborative initiative is at the forefront of actions that both institutions are promoting with a 2030 horizon. It is closely aligned with the 'From Farm to Fork' campaign, a cornerstone of the European Green Deal.
WITH WHO
Many hands, one vision
Barcelona Agraria strives to ensure that every citizen has access to healthy, secure, sustainable, and locally-sourced food. We collaborate with councils dedicated to promoting this agri-food model in their communities.
We are also proud to work alongside various organizations and entities that share our vision and are committed to driving projects aligned with our goals.
Initially, the project was co-financed by the Barcelona Provincial Council and the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) as part of BCN Smart Rural. Currently, the Barcelona Agraria program is fully funded by the Barcelona Provincial Council.
If your initiative aligns with our mission and areas of work, we encourage you to reach out to us. Share your needs, and we will find the best way to support you. We are eager to hear from you and learn more about your project!
THE TEAM
From the root to the fruit
At the core of the Barcelona Agraria program, we have a team of professionals with extensive experience in designing and implementing tools to transform the food system.
We are a group of young, creative, and dedicated individuals working tirelessly in our respective fields to accelerate a revolution that has no turning back. The future of food sustainability is our primary concern, and we are focused on creating initiatives to support the emerging farming industry.
